What is Apprenticeship?

GEBBCA is an approved state-certified apprenticeship workforce development program for barbers and cosmetologists. All classes are taught by licensed credentialed instructors. The aspect that makes our program unique is that we give people an opportunity.  

Apprenticeship consists of two components:

  1. Pre-Apprenticeship Training (Provided by the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology www.barbercosmo.ca.gov) 
  2. Two-Year On the Job Training

Apprenticeship is a two year on the job training program which combines a hands on experience with a classroom component of related instruction. The process is earn while you learn and learn while doing. Applicants must be a minimum of 16-years of age (or older) and have completed the 10th grade or received a high school equivalent (GED).
